Despite the ongoing discussion about the differences between old (”analoque”) and new (”digital”) media - they all have one thing in common: in the beginning there is nothing but nothing.

The empty sheet in a typewriter. The unwritten page in a notebook for scribbles & lyrics. The naked canvas. The unexposed film. The unrecorded tape. The empty tracklist in a software sequencer. The new document window in your word processor or that mySpace.com-homepage you just registered (see Pict.).

This is where it all begins. And this is where it ends.
It is the first word that is limiting your possibilities. The first stroke, the first note, the first beat, the first period and the first comma, even the first idea defines a direction - leading to what, hopefully, is something new. It is only in the beginning that all possibilities exist at the same time - the ones you thought of and the ones you didn’t.

Everything is possible. All the pre-work done. The smallest common denominator has been found; a list of rules assorted.
