Looking forward to it, dear reader, was nice.
Looking at it, is much nicer. It has arrived: the brandnew iMac Intel Core 2 Duo. Future heart and brain of our ShrimpHouse studio.

As usual, fascination begins with the package - apple users know, what I’m talking bout. Finest, all-white cardboard: “Designed by Apple California”. Not to mention the smell. Yes, you can smell a new apple. It smells like a presumption of all the projects, you are finally able to realize - now, that you have that perfect, powerful machine standing in front of you…

Hard Ware
Outside as well as “under the hood” - the new iMac has everything to make a beat maker’s heart beat faster: 2,4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and large 3 GBs of RAM make it 5 times as fast as the old ShrimpHouse-iBook.

With 320 GBs of harddisk space (with up to 1 TB upgrade available) it is possible to work on several projects simultaneously. And the new CD- and (doublelayer) DVD-burner/drive is perfect for quick backups.
And all of this resides inside the elegant aluminium frame of a 20″-TFT-screen, which is only 3 centimeter thin and of an unbelievable brilliant image.

Hand Made
Additionally, there is a new keyboard: not more than 5 millimeter thin, made of rather stable aluminium; highly sensitive keys (new: ‘Play/Pause’, ‘Forward’ and ‘Rewind’ for controlling audio, video and more).

Not to forget: the Mighty Mouse - five clickable areas instead of one. And last, but not least: Apple Remote: Apple’s remote control not only for DVDs, music and WebTV, but also your studio software - all the way from behind the mic in your vocal booth…

Soft Facts
A prospos, software. I still have to be patient. Leopard - Apple’s new, revolutionary operating system has been published last thursday evening. I will receive my copy tomorrow morning. Then, finally, I will install my new Logic Studio 8 and continue working on some hot tracks.

Both - Leopard and Logic Studio - are revolutions of their own. So there will be detailed postings on both of them, later on this platform.
