English/German - Dictionary

A note on bilinguality
Originally, this site was intended to be published in German only. But since - out of our five artists - two and a half do their tracks in English (the other half is in a bag inside the trunk of my car), we decided to put up a bilingual blog instead.

This means: We will try to provide translations for as many posts and pages as possible. (Click on the  -flag in a post’s header to switch language temporarily. Click on the  -flag in the sidebar to change your language preferences.)

This does NOT mean: that we do speak English. Some of our translations might probably suck. If they do, let us know. (Btw, we are hoping for one of you native speaking hiphop lovers out there to go over our translations before we publish them…)
Stated this… here we go: Even an “open” platform needs at least some rules to give it direction and reliability within the public space of the internet. Therefore, we put the most important of these “rules”, along with some information, into this FAQ:
  1. What does “autlawmusic” mean?

autlawmusic.com has originally been the homepage of Peter “peddro” Schwaiger aka Autlaw. Now that he is more often producing artists than working on his own tracks, he decided to change it into a platform, where he could promote these artists.

  2. Who will write the posts?

All the artists are equal authors. Each one of them will have to decide, what and how much he is going to post; each of them is responsible for the content of his postings - a necessary prerequisite for the multitude of opinions we’d like to have on this blog.
Furthermore, readers may as well become registered authors: Let us know, who you are and what you’d like to write about via the contact form.

  3. Who is allowed to comment?

Basically everyone - guests as well as registered users. We want your most honest opinions. We won’t hesitate putting even the harshest critic, the hottest diss online without any changes. As long as you respect an minimum of netiquette. But we WILL definitely delete messages which contain spam or violate any laws or copyrights.

  4. Why should I register?

It’s not necessary to register to autlawmusic.com to use autlawmusic.com. The difference is, that registered users will be recognized and referred to by their nicknames when commenting or using the autbox.
(Furthermore, we do have plans to offer special tracks, which - e.g. due to copyright reasons - cannot be published, password-protected. Only registered users will have access to these files.)

  5. How does the rating system work?

Posts containing music, pics or video, have a rating bar in their header (one to five stars). Everyone - guests as well as registered users - are allowed to rate; artists and authors are not. Btw, you can see a list of highest rated posts at our archiv-page.

  6. Can I put my own tracks online?

    Yes.
Als long as your track matches the following criteria:

    1. You definitely own the rights necessary for publishing the track.
    2. The track is already online somewhere.
    3. The track fits into the concept of our blog, at least somehow.

There are two ways to present your track to the autlawmusic.com community:
The fast way is to post a comment to one of our postings. Insert a html link to your track. Our system will generate a mp3-player from the link - ready.
If you feel, that your track needs to be published - and talked about - within its own posting, contact us. Include the URl of your track, who you are and why you think, this track should be presented.

  7. What about copyright?

    Uh, well.
This is not Microsoft®, you know. But we certainly do respect national and international copyrights.

Basically, we’d like to state: autlawmusic.com is a private, strictly non-commercial internet platform, on which private individuals share the products of their creativity with other private individuals, who - just by consuming or downloading these products - declare, that they will not use or distribute these products in any commercial or other non-private ways.

Anyone, who uploads content (or links to it), thereby declares to be the owner of all rights necessary to do so. All downloads from autlawmusic.com are free. Commercial ads is not allowed.

In case of doubt - or being asked to do so by anyone who claims to be the copyrights owner of a certain file- we will remove files or links immediately and without further notification. We may also change the very rules on this page accordingly or even exclude this site from public access.

    P. S.: This does not mean, we as artists don’t want to “sell” any of our music at all. The opposite is true. Requests by record labels et al. are more than welcome. Please, use our contact form.

  8. How do I contact a single artist?

Just write a comment to a post by that artist. He will be notified of your comment by e-mail. We will also forward mails from our contact form if possible. Last but not least, you can email any artist directly (artistname@autlawmusic.com).

  9. What is the backstage-category for?

The backstage-category is for artist communication only, so we can exchange demos, premixes and more without making them publicly available.

  10. What is the autbox?

The autbox (upper right, menu ‘LIVE’) is a very simple and small kind of chat window. If you have more to say than just greeting some old friend, use our contact form or some “real” chat application. ;-)
